Carl Fleischhauer worked on a variety of digitization and digital preservation projects at the Library of Congress beginning in 1983. His more recent projects at the Library include the Format Sustainability Web site and coordination of the Audio-Visual Working Group of the Federal Agencies Digitization Guidelines Initiative (FADGI). Fleischhauer retired from the Library in April 2016 and continues digital preservation work on an independent basis. He is a member of the IASA Technical Committee.
