Ian Dennis is
a consulting hardware, software and DSP engineer specialising in audio and multimedia systems. From 1987 to 2018 he was Technical Director of the Prism Sound group, a UK manufacturer of audio A/D and D/A converters, test and measurement equipment, SADiE audio workstations and Imerge media servers.
Ian has been designing audio equipment since 1979, when he landed his dream job as an intern at Rupert Neve - and as a meddling kid since long before that.
Current interests include audio conversion, audio test and measurement equipment and methods, various audio DSP applications and media networking.
He is vice chair of the AES SC-02-01 audio measurement standards committee, and is also engaged in standards development within the BSI and IEC. He has been called as an expert witness in cases of audio forensics, and has authored various audio-related papers and articles.
In rare moments away from audio, he can be found tending his wife’s menagerie of dogs, cats, goats, pigs, chickens, ducks, horses, plus a tortoise, a parrot and a couple of emus.
