Liliana Melgar is a postdoctoral researcher at Utrecht University investigating how to support Scholarly Video Annotation in the Dutch infrastructure for the digital humanities CLARIAH. She has been involved since 2016 in the CLARIAH project as part of the work package on audiovisual media and media studies, where the main goals are to open up key Dutch audiovisual collections for researchers, and to build digital tools that facilitate their use. As an information scientist, she collaborates with the humanities scholars in the team and with the developers at The Netherlands Institute for Sound and Vision in analysing user requirements, and co-developing and testing the CLARIAH Media Suite. Currently, she investigates how researchers (film, television, media scholars, cultural historians, among others) work with and analyse audiovisual data in order to bring the CLARIAH infrastructure a step forward in facilitating online research in a collaborative setting.
